The 911 GT2 RS design reconciles diametrically opposing requirements such as maximum speed and drag coefficient and maximum downforce race-optimized aerodynamics, which is no easy task. The front apron’s aerodynamic shape ensures optimum cooling. The extra air outlet at the hood front helps in providing airflow to the central radiator while deflecting airflow to provide aerodynamic downforce at the axle’s front. You’ll also be happy to hear that all the vents are titanium protected by air intake grills. At the front wheel arch ventilator, there’s motorsport tech on the fenders. The carbon slats will efficiently provide ventilation. In fact, their shape design was developed by NASA’s predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA).
Lightweight Construction
For this high powered sports car to provide optimal performance, weight is an integral factor. It’s made out of the lightest functional materials, which results in consistent lightweight construction to the very last detail, with the power-to-weight ratio being 2.58 kg/kW (4.63 lb/hp) which allows outstanding performance. The front fender, rear side panels, wheel arch vents, hood, and exterior upper part of mirrors are made out of carbon fiber reinforced plastic, as are most of the interior components.
Wheels
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS has 20-inch wheels in the front axle and 21-inch wheels on its rear axle. What does this mean? It means big, wide wheels, large tire contact area, great driving dynamics. Its wheels are painted in White Gold Metallic (high-gloss) and stand out because it has a visible, recessed 'GT2 RS' logo on the rim.
