The Iconic Green Of The Porsche 911 GT3 RS

The new 911 GT3 RS—a fast, thrilling road-approved sports car from Porsche—has arrived, and the prototype is an iconic green hue that evokes feelings of excitement and power. As you can imagine, this color choice was no accident, and the Lizard Green shade was chosen with careful consideration. Barbara Sika and Daniela Milošević, the two designers responsible for the Lizard Green choice, explain the process of selecting an exterior color for the 911 GT3 RS. Sika said, “The 911 GT3 RS pushes the limits of what’s technically possible, so it also needs a cutting-edge color.” Milošević adds, “We match the color precisely to the character of the car. The color should be like a superb article of clothing that perfectly highlights the car’s qualities.” Sina Brunner, a Porsche Product Manager for Innovation and Color, commented, “Lizard Green is a very extroverted color that expresses sportiness, agility, and nimbleness.” Studying the fashion industry, the history of Porsche model colors, and the image the brand wanted to convey, Sika and Miloševićdeveloped Lizard Green to be associated with the newest iteration of 911 GT3 RS. Porsche Explores All-Electric Technology With The Mission E Cross Turismo

Always innovative and forward-thinking, Porsche has released a new all-electric concept car: the Mission E Cross Turismo. Porsche plans to transform the concept into a production vehicle in the near future. Chief Designer Michael Mauer stated, “It goes without saying that I would like to see that happen with this vehicle: our team has put its heart and soul into the Cross Turismo over the last two years. Perhaps that means I'm not very objective. What is important now is for us to see how the public responds to the vehicle and then we can draw the right conclusions." Revealed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, the Mission E Cross Turismo garnered a positive response from consumers and the press. MotorTrend.com stated, “The Porsche Mission E Cross Turimso is a fast-charging, low-slung wagon: It is the second iteration of Porsche's Mission E concept-which bowed in 2015 as a four-passenger sports car with suicide doors and promises to beat Tesla with more than 600 horsepower, 440 kW and an 800-volt system to charge its lithium-ion batteries twice as fast.” Learn more about Porsche’s future or test drive an E-Hybrid model at indiGO Auto Group’s Porsche North Houston.

indiGO Auto Group Founder & CEO Todd Blue Featured in Automotive News

Last week, Automotive News featured our Founder & CEO Todd Blue in the publication’s “Q+A” section. Mr. Blue is a member of the Porsche Dealer Board of Regents, and he took a moment to chat with the editorial team at Automotive News about the exciting future of Porsche and the nuances of the 2018 model year. Read a snippet of his interview here, and view the entire article on autonews.com. Automotive News: How was 2017 for Porsche dealers? Todd Blue: Fantastic. The connectivity to the dealer body is outstanding. What major issues do Porsche dealers face? In 2018, we have a transition year where Cayenne doesn't come till the third quarter. Pacing ourselves, with anticipation of what will be our best-selling vehicle, is a balancing act for Porsche dealers, but we've got some good planning. Also our 911 volume is a little backloaded toward the end of the year. But things are in good balance with the product mix. We've got some really wonderful and new and fresh products at the beginning of the year like the GT 911s — the GT2 RS, the GT3s. We're getting that now, which is very helpful. What does the board of regents hope to accomplish in 2018? Even though we're talking about 2019, 2020 for Mission E, we are very focused on everything we're doing on the electrification of Porsche. The time is now to be planning, thinking, strategizing. We are making more than just baby steps toward electrification, which is going to be a revolutionary thing for this company and the industry. Porsche has committed to a major push on electric. Is it doing enough to get dealers ready to sell them? There are meetings scheduled, in a healthy staggered way, between now and the arrival of that vehicle to get dealers ready. Nothing will be a surprise to any of the dealers. Porsche is on this. We'll be ready, and they are getting us ready through a tremendous amount of communications. What specific changes will need to happen at the dealership? Whether it's the number of amps required for the fast-charge system to charge these vehicles from a zero battery to 80 percent in 15 minutes, that's going to be a huge point of differentiation, especially in the beginning, for Porsche. All the ways to handle the batteries, both the physical way as well as the maintenance, is all being discussed. Read the full interview here. A Glimpse Of The 2019 Cayenne Turbo

The new 2019 Cayenne Turbo is available for preorder now and will arrive at United States dealerships this fall. What can you expect? The 2019 Turbo version will feature a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 that produces 500 horsepower and 567 lb.-ft. of torque. It promises to be quicker—with an acceleration rate of 0 to 60 in just 3.7 seconds—and more agile on the road than previous Cayenne models. Plus, Porsche announced even more standard features and a sharper interior design. Of the new interior, Porsche said, “Interior design elements including the center-mounted grab handles continue in the third- generation Cayenne Turbo. Like other members of the new Cayenne family the newest model features the Porsche Advanced Cockpit, which includes a high-definition 12.3-inch screen in the dashboard and an analog tachometer flanked by two seven-inch full-HD screens. Virtually all of the vehicle functions can be displayed and operated using the high-resolution display and touchscreen of the Porsche Advanced Cockpit. Among them, for example, is the standard 710-watt BOSE® Surround Sound System. Other equipment newly included by default in the latest Cayenne Turbo includes 18-way sport seats, seat backs with integrated headrests, and standard heating functions for all outboard seats as well as the steering wheel.” Test drive the 2019 Cayenne Turbo today at indiGO Auto Group’s Porsche North Houston.

The Porsche 718 GTS

The Porsche 718 GTS line is more advanced than ever before. The Porsche brand has expanded the mid-engine 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman model lines with new GTS models. A number of performance-enhancing options are available on the new GTS models, such as Porsche Torque Vectoring and Porsche Active Suspension Management. The Sport Chrono Package is standard on the GTS models. All of these changes reduce the ride height by 0.39 inches compared to the standard suspension on other 718 Boxster and Cayman models. The Sport Design front fascia highlights the performance of the car. Tinted front indicator lights and taillights, model designations in black, a black lower rear fascia, and black tips on the centrally mounted standard Sport Exhaust System make the GTS models stand out. Black GTS designations on the doors and matte black 20-inch wheels complete the particularly dynamic appearance. There is so much beauty and power within the 718 GTS models. Porsche Creates An Augmented Reality Experience

Porsche is ever-improving the way customers can connect with the brand and most importantly, their vehicles. Recently, Tech Live Look was created by Porsche as an Augmented Reality technology design to improve technical service at Porsche dealerships in the United States. Tech Live Look takes users into a high-tech projection that will show fine details (such as the threading on screws) within a Porsche model. Lightweight smart glasses show a “see what I see” video-conference that enables quick identification of any technical issues within a car. Tech Live Look can do much more than just provide real-time video capability. It allows the technical support team to take screenshots or send technical bulletins and instructions onto the projection surface of the glasses while the service technician is working on the vehicle. This type of information exchange is far more efficient than sending emails and photos or explaining complex technical issues over the phone. Porsche continues to make being Porsche customer an exciting experience! Looking forward to experiencing the Tech Live Look technology by Porsche? We encourage you to visit us at indiGO Auto Group’s Porsche North Houston.
